Ademco Vista Series Basic Operation
To DISARM System
To disarm system enter your 4 digit user code followed by the OFF button(#1).
To ARM System in AWAY mode (all zones secured)
There is a 30 second delay from the time system is armed to allow you to leave and secure the door.
Make sure system has green ready light. If system is not ready to arm, check any zones indicated as open on keypad display. Enter your 4 digit user code followed by the AWAY button(#2). The system will begin its 30 second exit delay. Exit the building.
To ARM system in STAY mode (interior sensors bypassed)
The stay mode disables interior sensors (Motion Detectors) so that you may move inside the premises, but secures the perimeter doors & windows. There is a 30 second delay on the entry doors to allow exit or re-entry.
To arm system enter your 4 digit user code followed by the STAY button(#3). The system will begin its 30 second exit delay. You may exit the building during this time.
To ARM system in INSTANT mode (Stay mode with NO delay on Entry)
The instant mode can be used to ensure no one can enter the premises with the system armed. This mode is normally used at night, after everyone is home. Interior sensors are disabled, and there is NO delay on Door Zones.
To arm system enter your 4 digit user code followed by the INSTANT button(#7).
Panic Buttons
To the left of the keypad, there are panic buttons programmed for POLICE or FIRE emergency. Press and hold for approximately 2 seconds to activate panic. You may enter your 4 digit code followed by the OFF button(#1) to disable the sounder.
Chime Mode
The system has a chime feature that can be enabled or disabled by entering your 4 digit code followed by the CHIME button(#9).
Bypassing Zones
To bypass (disable) a zone, enter 4 digit code followed by the BYPASS(#6) + two digit zone numbers to be disabled. Example: 1234 + 6(BYPASS) + 02, 03, 04 etc. The system may be armed in any mode after bypassing. NOTE: FIRE ZONES CANNOT BE BYPASSED.
ADEMCO Vista Series TESTING
Your Security system should be tested regularly to ensure proper operation.
BEFORE TESTING PLEASE CALL 901.377.3277 menu option 1 to place system in test mode with monitoring station.
TESTING INDIVIDUAL SENSORS
- While in test mode the keypad will sound a single BEEP every 30 seconds as a reminder that the system is in TEST MODE.
- Alarm signals are NOT sent to SentryNet while in test mode. Be sure to disable the test mode once testing is complete to return your system to normal operation.
To ENABLE WALK TEST MODE: with system disarmed, enter 4 digit user code + TEST(5) + 0. Listen for Siren to sound for about 1 second. TEST IN PROGRESS will display on Keypad.
Open each protected door or window and listen for 3 beeps from keypad. The zone number of each faulted sensor should appear on the display. The display clears when the door or window is closed. Motion Detectors may be tested by walking in front of the device and listening for the three beeps from keypad. After testing be sure to disable the walk test mode.
To DISABLE WALK TEST MODE: enter 4 digit user code + OFF(1).
If your siren does not sound when you enabled the test mode or if the keypad fails to beep for each sensor PLEASE CALL 901.377.4991 FOR SERVICE IMMEDIATELY.
TESTING SYSTEM COMMUNICATIONS
Perform a DIALER TEST to ensure your system is communicating successfully with the monitoring station.
To initiate the DIALER TEST: with system disarmed, enter 4 digit code + TEST(5) + 1
This command forces your system to test communications with SentryNet. If there is a communication issue the keypad will display TELCO FAULT or CHECK 94. If you see either of these messages PLEASE CALL 901.377.4991 FOR SERVICE IMMEDIATELY.
Programming User Codes for the Vista SE Series
If you have a Partitioned Alarm System or you need to assign Authority Levels to a user code, please refer to the User’s Manual for this information.
Adding a User Code
You must know the current Master Code to be able to change the Master Code or enter a User Code. Each code in your system is numbered in sequence; this 2-digit number is referred to as the User Number. Your Master Code is User Number 02. Any codes you add to the system will be assigned User Numbers of 03 through 13. We suggest you keep a record (like the one shown below) of the codes you add to the system.
1. Your system must be disarmed to add User Codes
2. Enter the following sequence of numbers without pausing:
Master Code + [8] + 2 digit User Number + 4 digit User Code

Deleting a User Code
To delete a User Code you must know the current Master Code and the assigned User Number for the User Code you want to delete.
1. Your system must be disarmed to delete User Codes
2. Enter the following sequence of numbers without pausing:
Master Code + [8] + 2 digit User Number
3. Wait (about 3 seconds) for the keypad to beep once, confirming that the code was deleted
Changing your Master Code
You must know the current Master Code in order to change the Master Code. Your Master Code is always User Number 02.
1. Your system must be disarmed to change the Master Code
2. Enter the following sequence of numbers without pausing:
Master Code + [8] + 02 + new 4-digit Master Code + new 4-digit Master Code again
3. Wait (about 3 seconds) for the keypad to beep once, confirming that the code was deleted
